Drink Your Spring Greens: Nettles

Urtica dioica, often known as common nettle or stinging nettle is full of antioxidants and minerals, and nourishes the whole body!

Picking it might be something you are not so keen on, but if you pinch it firmly and with purpose, you are less likely to get stung. You can of course use a glove or a scarf in order to break off the top of the plant – always go for the non flowering plant, or the top growth of leaves.

Steep them in boiling water for 5 minutes, for a nourishing tea! Enjoy.

Nettles an also be added to Smoothies!

You can make Nettle soup, and nettle water is also a great natural rinse for thinning hair! The Stinging Nettle is such a versatile plant! Enjoy!

Come along to a WanderWomen experience and I will show you how to identify stinging nettles, and how to pick it without being stung!
