Have you heard of Jamu juice, the Indonesian, all natural, anti-inflammatory goodness that soothes and heals the body?!
It is easy to make to create your own sunshine and or daydream travel to Bali!
Blend the following ingredients in 500ml of cold water:
1 Tbsp fresh turmeric roots, rinsed, no need to peel or improvise with turmeric powder
2 Tbsp fresh ginger roots, rinsed, no need to peel
honey, or (vegan) maple syrup to taste,
squeeze of lemon or lime to taste.
To this original recipe, feel free to experiment by adding any or all of the following, too: nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, and some black pepper, so the turmeric can be absorbed by the body easier.
After blending, you can either strain it, or leave it as is, add another 500ml of water, and store in the fridge.
I enjoy making this big batch of Jamu juice, which I will I drink throughout the whole week.
Drink cold straight from your fridge, or add hot water to half a cup for a cheery, healthy and energising winter drink!
